Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

As part of the Oxford College community, we recognize that we share a very diverse campus and community, and we are committed to upholding the values and practices of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In other words, we share an aim in this commitment to all members of this community not only feeling recognized, respected and appreciated, but also sharing a sense of Belonging here.

Furthermore, when our community falls short of these values, or our students experience threat or harm beyond the boundaries of our campus because of who they are or what they believe, we offer our services and support, doing so in validation of their struggles.

We explicitly recognize that mental health issues and social justice issues are often intertwined. We recognize that discrimination, threats, or more subtle forms of oppression because of one’s race, ethnicity, nationality, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspects of identity compromise overall health and quality of life. Therefore, we are committed to helping individual students navigating the challenges and opportunities of a diverse campus.
